Image and Description for Poem #288

I’m nobody! Who are you?
Are you – Nobody – Too?
Then there’s a pair of us!
Don’t tell they’d advertise – you know!

How dreary – to be – Somebody!
How public – like a Frog –
To tell one’s name – the livelong June –
To an admiring Bog!

Description

If Emily Dickinson had been a “somebody” in her day we would not have her marvelous poetry we have today. Creativity is lost when you create only to appeal to the masses. When you are a nobody you have the freedom to be anybody!
